Meet The Editors
Having completed her undergraduate degree in English Studies, Elena Browne is now undertaking the MPhil in Children's Literature at Trinity College Dublin. Elena currently works at Eason Ireland where she has the oppurtunity to meet world famous authors such as Garth Nix. Elena and Joanne founded The Looking Glass in their Junior Sophister year and have been working on it ever since. Elena loves reading children's books and writing young adult fiction. Her favourite authors include Patrick Ness and Meg Rosoff. She also loves the work of Oliver Jeffers, Shaun Tan, Lane Smith and Jon Szieszka.
Joanne Nolan recently graduated with a B.A. in English Studies from Trinity College Dublin. She has always had a passion for children's and young adult literature, in particular fantasy and science fiction. Her favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, Jonathan Stroud and Garth Nix. She is currently writing a fantasy novel.
Dominique Twomey is a Senior Sophister undertaking a degree in English Studies at Trinity College Dublin. Last year she studied all the children's literature modules on offer, unfortunately this means that this year, she has to rely entirely on the magazine to get her fix. Children's literature has always been her passion, especially young adult fiction and its focus on identity. Her favourite authors include Lois Lowry and Cynthia Voight. She also has a love of picturebooks, in particular John Burningham's work.
Emily Daly is a Senior Sophister majoring in English Literature at Trinity College Dublin. Emily is an avid reader with a particular fondness for children's literature. She especially loves illustrated texts, from picture books all the way through to graphic novels. Having spent the past year reviewing for The Looking Glass website, she is delighted to get the chance to try her hand at editing the magazine. Unable to limit her studies to exclusively children's lit modules this year, she looks forward to unleashing her passion into all things TLG.
